Visa Guidelines

When making your plans to visit Lithuania, check to see if you will need a visa to enter Lithuania here.

Visa requirements for travellers coming to Lithuania vary depending on their nationality and the purpose of their visit.

  • Schengen Visa: Lithuania is a member of the Schengen Area, which means that citizens of certain countries do not need a visa to enter Lithuania for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period for tourism, business, or family visits. This includes citizens of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA), and many other countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan.
  • Visa-Free Entry: Citizens of certain countries, including the EU, EEA, and several others, do not need a visa for short visits to Lithuania. They can enter with a valid passport and stay for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
  • Visa Requirements for Other Nationals: Citizens of countries not included in visa-free agreements with Lithuania will need to obtain a Schengen Visa before travelling. The visa application process typically involves providing documentation such as a passport, travel itinerary, proof of accommodation, travel insurance, and financial means to support the trip.
